Soon after Mary Ridge, one of the original owners of Malibu, sold La Costa Beach to Harold Ferguson in 1926 it became the first neighborhood to be developed within the city. Ferguson completely renovated the area, building the La Costa Beach Club and naming the surrounding streets Malibu locals have come to recognize today. The Malibu beach homes found along La Costa range in both price and design, giving the neighborhood a diverse appearance. With relaxing amenities such as spectacular ocean views, tennis court access, and Ferguson’s now historic La Costa Beach Club, La Costa has become it’s own unique community in the city of Malibu.
